Peter McDonough Sharks Head Coach

Coach Peter has been coaching and teaching children to swim in Northern Virginia for over 25 years.  He has coached NVSL, CSL, high school and USA club swim teams, and is currently the assistant coach at Chantilly High School, where he is also a special education history teacher specializing in Emotional Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. This will be Coach Peter's 8th season with the Sharks and he is excited for another fun-filled summer teaching swimmers to be great in and out of the water!  He lives in Chantilly with his wife Emily, and their two children Josephine and Finn.  

Matthew Bowman Assistant Coach

Matthew has been swimming on the Sharks since he was 8 years old. He swam competitively on the York Swim Club, the Fairfax Foxes, and currently on the Mason Makos. Matthew is a graduated senior at Oakton and will be attending the College of William & Mary in the fall. He is also the head coach of the Oakton Swim Club, Oakton’s special olympics team. His favorite events to swim are butterfly and IM. Matthew has vast experience in swimming and is passionate and committed to help others learn. He is so excited to be back and cannot wait to begin coaching fellow teammates.

Ryan Brady Lane Coach

Ryan has been swimming for 10+ years with the Sharks. He is a rising senior at Chantilly High School where he is a member of the swim team. He also has been swimming club with the Mason Makos for many years and his favorite stroke is backstroke.  Ryan has loved both swimming and coaching for Fair Oaks and is very excited to be both a coach and a swimmer on this team for another season. 

Kylie Byun Lane Coach

Kylie started swimming when she was 5 years old and joined the Sharks when she was 9.  Soon after, she joined the Mason Makos where she swam for 4 years.  Of the eight years that she has been a part of the team, she has enjoyed every second of it and looks forward to the season all year.  She has 4 years of experience coaching swim to younger kids and her favorite stroke is breaststroke.  She's also a rising senior at Oakton High School.  Kylie is excited for this upcoming season and can't wait to get started!

Daniel Chua Lane Coach

Daniel has been swimming since he was a wee little six-year-old, and he joined the Sharks when he was 7! Daniel has also been swimming with Machine Aquatics since he was 9, and he swam for the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology swim team for the last four years, serving as a captain during his senior year. His favorite event in high school was the 200 freestyle, but his favorite stroke is butterfly! Daniel is excited to coach this year, since he had loved coaching Junior Sharks two years ago. If you’d like private lessons, Daniel would be happy to help!

Devon Corderman Lane Coach

Devon has been swimming since she was 2 years old. She started swimming with her neighborhood in Alexandria and eventually moved on to join the Mason Makos and swim with the Fair Oaks Sharks which she has been a part of since 2013. She now swims for York Swim Club and is on the Oakton High School swim team.  She is a breaststroker and a sprinter and is excited to be coaching this year!

Isaac Rodriguez Lane Coach

Isaac has been swimming for over 10 years.  He has swam with Fair Oaks since he was 7.  He currently swims for Oakton High School and Fairfax Area Aquatics as a backstroker.  He has swum internationally for the American School of The Hague in The Netherlands and for the Uruguayan American School in Uruguay.  Ever since Isaac joined Fair Oaks the summer of 2015, he looks forward to the season throughout the year.  Isaac is excited to return to the team and can't wait to see what we can accomplish this year!

Bennett Wozny Lane Coach
 
Bennett joined the team when he was 4 years old, first starting out as a Jr. Shark. He had so much fun every summer that he continued to come back year after year. Bennett attended Oakton High School, where he was a part of the football and swim/dive teams. He graduated from Oakton in 2024 and plans to attend James Madison University in the fall. His favorite stroke is breaststroke and is excited for the upcoming season to begin.
